About the Event

The Smoke on the Water Festival is more than just a BBQ cook-off – it’s an event for the entire family! Sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society and the Alabama BBQ Association, this cook-off will determine the very best barbeque from among the entrants, and the winners will win cash prizes. If you love barbeque, this is the place to be!

Bring your family to McFarland Park on April 29, 2017 and sample this for yourself! A $10+ donation to Shoals Scholar Dollars ($5 for kids 6-12 and free for the little ones) is all you need to enjoy everything the festival has to offer.  What do you get? 

  • While it lasts, you will be able to sample BBQ from some of the cook teams represented.  Come taste and vote for your favorite- the People’s Choice Awards will be based on your votes!
